AMC Theatres - Let's screw with the casual movie goer...
Went to see Star Wars 7. Impulse viewing.
30-40 minutes before the show, only one seat left. Next showing only front row seats (read neck strain, assigned seating)left. The lazy consumer from home wins out by not having to get to the theater on time, or bother to wait in line. The consumer who makes the effort, even on impulse, gets screwed.
Marcus Theaters do the same.
Luckily found a showing half an hour later at a locally owned theater. AMC stinks.
Reason of review: Failure to satify impulse purchase.
Preferred solution: Get rid of the assigned seating or provide seating for customers who come in within an hour of showing a chance at decent seats.
AMC Theatres Cons: Assigned seating policy, No seats for the impulse movie attendee.
Location: Lombard, Illinois

I agree with the poster from Maryland. The person claiming to be from NY needs to take their own advice and shut it.
You could also buy your tickets ahead of time in person at the theatre. And online ticketing is by no means free, as each ticket costs approximately $2 extra as a convenience fee.
People paying to be lazy, as you put it, is as old as stores and services themselves, lest we all be growing our own food, building our own houses, and performing our own surgeries.
The whole point of commerce is that we pay others to do things we can't or don't want to, and here they're paying a third party to hold tickets for them so they don't have to stand in line.
Look at it another way, if you had walked in and bought your ticket days in advance, would you see yourself as lazy because you planned ahead and didn't have to stand in the ticket line? Would you be okay with a late-comer taking your seat because they didn't plan?
Shut up.
