AMC Theater in Rockaway NJ is one of the better theaters in the chain and it's dirty, understaffed, untrained, unmanaged, etc, etc. To start management is usually under 30 and hiding in the back office.
They don't help when the lines get long or concession lines are backed up. They don't realize that concessions make up a huge part of their revenue. The longer you make a customer wait in line, the more likely you will lose that sale or the customer will bring their own food and or drink. Concession stands are filthy, the counters are dirty, stock boxes are piled up on the counter, lids, straws, and napkins are consistently not stocked.
Bathroom floors are not cleaned or moped. Butter?? machines don't work, soda machines are consistently down and popcorn is again consistently not cooked properly (kettle is not up to temp and measurements are not followed correctly. Only one or two concession staff working the counter with over 25, 50+ people in line.
They have this fantastic theater and they have put it in the hands of an untrained and uncaring staff. They are in dire need of real adult supervision. It really is not the fault of the Rockaway Team, they don't know any better, upper management and corporate are to blame for this. Shame on them.
It's not just the Rockaway NJ location, it's the Clifton NJ, Wisconsin Dells, WI and I'm pretty sure your local AMC location also.
I'm in the concession industry for over 35 years for arenas, theaters and large traveling shows. I've never seen anything like this.
